No food or drink is allowed inside the Museum.

All bags will be searched by security before entrance. If you don't have any bags, you won't have to wait in the security line.

Umbrellas must be checked in the coatroom.

The closest metro is L'Enfant Plaza station.

The bar is cash only.

There are no ATMs at the Museum. The closest ATM is located at L'Enfant Plaza Metro Station.

Strange Bodies: Figurative Works from the Hirshhorn Collection
Check out an updated rotation of artworks in the exhibition, Strange Bodies, which brings together some of the most praised and popular examples of figuration from the collection to show how expressionistic and surrealistic impulses toward human representation have evolved from the early and mid-twentieth century to recent decades.

Directions: Walead Beshty: Legibility on Color Backgrounds
Los Angeles-based artist Walead Beshty creates photographs and sculptures that reconsider some of the fundamental premises of modern art. Beshty’s mesmerizing photographs blend an enduring fascination with modernist visual culture and an astute inquiry into the nature of photography.

By phone – Tickets may be purchased by phone by calling the Smithsonian Business Ventures Reservation Center at (202) 633-4629 or toll free at (877) 932-4629. Phone operators are available seven days a week from 10 am to 5 pm, EST, except December 25th. Phone tickets are available until 24 hours before the event.

In Person – Advance tickets for After Hours can be purchased at the Smithsonian IMAX® theater box offices located at the National Air and Space Museum and the National Museum of Natural History. Box offices open at 10 am each day and close after the start of the last scheduled show. Tickets for After Hours cannot be purchased at the Hirshhorn.
